Somewhat (although it's never enough). The -tapeio branch (and the
main branch that will become 2.5) have a docs/VTAPE-API that gives
the basics. And I'm updating amanda(8) to match. Then there is the
ultimate documentation, the source code :-).

Understood. If it matters, I'm keeping the -tapeio branch up to date
with 2.4.2. They should be identical (modulo my reaction time) except
for the additional feature.
