I am sorry for restating the question that is seemlingly the most
wanted on this list, but I cannot get it to work.
I use amanda 2.4.2p1
the critical programs:

with 10.0.0.1 being my backupserver.
config-parameters:
./configure --with-user=amanda --with-group=disk
between mail and 10.0.0.1 a router without any filter lists
no firewall configuration, no ipchains, no NAT, nada.
If anyone knows a solution, I would greatly appreciate a hint.
