Does Amanda know about all 70 tapes, i.e. does tapelist have 70 lines?
Are you marking some of the tapes "no-reuse" with amadmin?
By "start reusing tapes", do you mean you want it to start back at the
start of the 70, minus the ones you've "kept for archival"?

to be the largest cycle time I've ever seen. What was the logic behind
this?
I'm not saying it's wrong. Just unusual.

This tells Amanda to cycle through the 57 tapes in the tapelist file
that are marked "reuse". If there are not that many tapes listed,
it will request a new tape.
