If you mean one amdump/amflush run, then yes.  Some of my configurations
use four tapes/day (run).

Correct.  So it can spread several smaller dumps across multiple tapes,
but each will only be on one tape.  When it is writing an image and
bangs into EOT, it will start that image over from the beginning on the
next tape.

Yes.

What do you mean by "not gotten past that"?  What you did should work
fine.

Note, however, that just because you tell Amanda it *can* use two tapes
does not mean it *will* use two tapes.  Setting runtapes gives Amanda
an upper bound, but if there isn't enough to do, it will not keep adding
work just to fill the tapes.

Looking at my system again, the ones that have runtapes set to four use
anywhere from one to four tapes per day, depending on whether semester
is in session, whether it is a weekend, etc.
