You need to label every AMANDA tape before she will use it. There is a
parameter 'labelstr' in amanda.conf that specifies the regex that every
label has to match. See the amlabel man page for info on how to use it.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I set the config file for "chg-manual".
Now
I get the following messages when I run amcheck:
amcheck-server: slot 0: not an amanda tape
insert tape into slot 1 and press return
The first tape is loaded into the drive (with MTX), so I press "return" and
the
message repeats itself:
insert tape into slot 1 and press return
insert tape into slot 1 and press return
insert tape into slot 1 and press return
etc.....
Until I break out with CTRL-C
Any ideas?
