I'm not quite sure what you're asking here.  Do you mean

        - append multiple runs to the same tape?
        - run backups more frequently than once a day, overwriting the 
          same tape each time?
        - something else entirely?

Sure, man amdump.  Just run the command on the configuration of your 
choice by hand whenever you want.

Install the amanda server sw on the server, the client sw on the 
clients, and follow the INSTALL directions.  That should be it.
You'll obviously need either dump/restore, GNU tar, or some 
equivalent installed on the client to actually perform the backups, 
of course.

Don't know the answer to that one, I don't back up any Windows 
systems.  Anyone else?
