But you can run multiple configurations in parallel : a one that never does a
full backup, only differential or incremential, and another that does full
backups (as an example. Unix is a big brick-game and you can do it if you can
say it).
The main advantage of letting Amanda planning the full and partial dumps is
that you get about the same load each day on your network. But if you prefer
to run a certain config on Sunday (the one that makes the full backup) and
another one on week days (the one that make incrementials), no problem. But
your network risks to be heavy-loaded on Sunday (but less load in the week)
