Hello all,
Before I get into the details, has the "unary operator expected" error
with chg-zd-mtx been fixed?
I've been trying for a few days to get my changer to work, but I'm falling
just short. I'm running RH71, mtx 1.2.13 with an IBM 7332 DDS2 12-tape
random access changer. I've found that mtx controls the drive just fine
from the command line. But when I try to run tape commands from amanda, I
get [: unary operator expected. When I googled for that error, I found it
typically means a trailing quote has been left out somewhere, crippling
the whole script below that point. Also, after reading
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amanda-users/message/30890
I brought the sed search targets closer to exactly what my mtx output
looks like (repalced $drivenum with "0"), also to no avail. I also tried
the script included with mtx-1.2.13 and amanda reported being unable to
load the slot, this time replacing the slot number with the entire output
of the mtx status command. It seems the unary operator error I'm getting
with chg-zd-mtx is "easier" to resolve, but I'd hate to check 459 lines
looking for a missing endquote.
Has anyone fixed chg-zd-mtx for everyone? Many thanks..
