I am running Amanda on AIX 4.3.3 with and IBM 7337 tape library. I do not
know if they work the same way, or use the same software to control them,
but if they do, I may be able to help you.
My tape library came with a command line utility called tapeutil to control
the robot. In order to use Amanda, I wrote custom shell scripts that let
Amanda talk to the library through tapeutil. If your library uses the
tapeutil program, I can e-mail you my scripts.
YMMV, of course, but the scripts work fine for me.
