I do use amanda on a --DAILY BASIS-- base over 2 week(dumpcycle) with a
-dumpcycle :2 week
-runspercycle :10 (so 1 run per day)
-tapecycle :1 month ( 28 tapes)
-64 backup host
-100 entries in the disklist
-the average of data on the tape is 20Mb when the maximum capacity is
35Mb
-we do not have a tape changer and would like to keep the whole backup
on
the same tape
But I would like to use amanda also on a 2 --WEEKS BASIS-- to keep a
backup
over 2 years..
on exactly the same disklist
the questions are multiple
-how can well define the following parameters...(can I approximate them
with the informations gathered in the --DAILY BASIS--)
-dumpcycle : 2 month
I thought to keep approximatively the same
runspercycle 10 -> 8(8*WEEK~=2month ). So it will give me a
dumpcycle of 2 month
-bumpsize (knowing that for the daily basis it was a 20Mb)
I do have no idea on how to modify knowing that we stretch
what is the dumpsize for a daily basis
-bumpdays (......it was at 1)
-bumpmult (......it was at 4)
