This explains nearly everything.....
AFAIK the OnStream drives don't comply 100% to the scsi-standard's.
Under linux you need a special kernel-driver for these drives.
In the kernel 2.4.9 i know it is integrated, for earlier versions
you'll probably need a patch to get it working correct.
