Hi,
what platform are you using.
Normally, you have to create a directory /etc/amanda/YourConf, copy
there the file amanda.conf and customize it (at least, you have to
customize mailto, device used, holding disk if you wanna use it).
Then, if I suppose you're launching amanda as the user "backup", you
have to edit /var/backups/.amandahosts (if you're using debian) and
insert there the pair of hostname/username of servers that should be
backed up by amanda.
You also have to edit your amandahost file to let your amanda server
connect to it.
