Hi Luz,

start creating a directory with a name that you want to call your backup schedule. The
location depends on your local environment. With me it is

/etc/amanda/regular

when I use "regular" as a name for the backup cycle. At your site it may be different.

There you'll copy the amanda.conf file and the disklist file into. Edit both:

amanda.conf is well explained by comments, make sure you'll use a non rewinding
device: /dev/nst0

In disklist you'll add the shares that you want to back up.

You can get a lot of infos from http://www.backupcentral.com/amanda.html

Don't get desparate, amanda is a fine piece of software, it is worth the effort
getting into it.

Piet
