Setting the 'chunksize' variable will tell amanda to split the filesystems
into manageable chunks, and there's no performance penalty.  It will also
not affect the ease of amrestore/amrecover.  I *think* that this will work
even with >2GB files, but I'm honestly not sure.

This question and whether or 'stable' supports large files are probably
best asked on a Debian list.  Large file support requires more than just
the kernel -- glibc needs to compiled properly as well.
