Setting the 'chunksize' variable will tell amanda to split the filesystems into manageable chunks, and there's no performance penalty. It will also not affect the ease of amrestore/amrecover. I *think* that this will work even with >2GB files, but I'm honestly not sure. > If I need to upgrade, can anyone give me some advice on the best Debian way > to do this? This question and whether or 'stable' supports large files are probably best asked on a Debian list. Large file support requires more than just the kernel -- glibc needs to compiled properly as well. -- Joshua Baker-LePain Department of Biomedical Engineering Duke University
