hi,
1)the problem is that each time that I use amdump it use 1.1 tape so
actually it use 2 tapes each time.
So I was wondering if they was a nice an easy way to put data on the
same tape without touching the amanda data..
the idea that I had is the following
-run amdump without inserting the tape so the data will be stored in
the holding disk
-run amflsuh only if the amount of data on the holdingdisk is higher
than what the tape can store
-redo the previous step as much as you can
so by this way of proceeding you're letting amanda doing is own stuff by
himself.
but to do that amflsuh as to flush the data that are the older first in
the tape and to be able
to flush more than one dump
>>>>so what do you think about it..
I do know that in the case that a tape broke I will probably lose more
than one dump..
2)does amflsuh has a special strategy who care to maximize the data on
each tape...
I think this is a well known problem
