Dear all,

I was trying to complie amanda 2.4.3b1. I'm running a Mandrake
Linux 8.0, Linux kernel 2.4.3, glibc 2.2.4. After make install, I tried
to run amcheck. It hang with kswapd, won't letting me to kill it, like
this:

# top
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
24028 operator 15 0 984 984 812 R 43.6 0.3 217:51 amcheck
    4 root 16 0 0 0 0 RW 43.4 0.0 217:17 kswapd

I checked /tmp/amanda/amcheck.20011223020258.debug. It only said:

# cat /tmp/amanda/amcheck.20011223020258.debug
amcheck: debug 1 pid 24027 ruid 11 euid 0 start time Sun Dec 23 02:02:58 2001
amcheck: dgram_bind: socket bound to 0.0.0.0.685

Nothing else left. It eats all the CPU with kswapd. The server is
running *really* slow now. But it doesn't seem to eat the memory. I
don't know what it is swapping with the kernel. Could anyone tell me
what to do to kill it? (besides of reset, because this box should not
be reset.)
