Hi, This is a very bad idea. This way You loose the indexes of the offsite-set of your tapes. ( You have enabled indexing in your dumptypes, don't you ? ) This means you can't use amrecover to restore single files from tapes. Normal solution for what you want is to label all of your tapes different, e.g. daily00 ... daily13, set tapecycle to 14 and dumpcycle to7. this way you can move one set of 7 days offsite every week and you can restore single files easily from every tape.
