No... found it.... great... I'll use that again. (hate making newbee errors)

everything double checks here...
FAQ-O-Matic had me check all rights again again again... mumble mumble mumble...
found one more... fixed... still no luck.

I don't have a firewall... NOT!!!! there that SOB is!!!!
I had setup for my 8 class C nets... missed an old legacy 1/2 class C in a different 
range... of course... the new machines being added to the backup
where in that old legacy range... DAMN! that took me too long. grrrr.

yea... doing the tar thing here mostly... so there is a setuid for tar and all will be 
backed up... great.
