Hi all,

I've just installed amanda on a linux 2.4.17 box, compiled with IDE tape
drive support... everything seemed happy, until I tried labelling my first
tape.

The box is a dell poweredge 500SC.

tape devices are /dev/ht0 & /dev/nht0

The tape device is identified correctly as a Seagate TR5... has a TR5 tape
in it.

When labelling, it checks the label ok, rewinds, writes a new label ok, then
rewinds again to see if the write it just did is still ok, and here it hung
(hard-hang i.e. pull out the powercord).

I used the tapetype listed on amanda.org:

define tapetype tr5

        comment "TR-5 Seagate STT220000N-RFT"
        length 9598 mbytes
        filemark 15 kbytes
        speed 720 kps
}

Has anyone had any grief with this? Anyone gotten them to work?

Thanks,

Chris Herrmann
