You won't get anywhere with them (or any other vendor). I've tried
for years and they just go plain stupid:
Me: Why don't you people fix this problem with active file systems
so dump at least does not abort? I applied and worked on fixes
for this 15 years ago when I first started working on it.
Vendor: We don't support backing up active file systems.
Me: That's crap. You're telling me you expect me to take this
system down once a day to do backups? That you don't expect
your system to stay up more than 24 hours?
At this point, the relationship usually turns ugly :-).
