self check : request timed out

Hi Guys,     i have just installed Amanda and when i give amcheck -c conf i get the following though the system is not using    WARNING: <system name> : selfcheck request timed out.  Host down?   this message comes to almost all the systems.   please.. can someone help me...     Thanks & Regards   Melvin Lobo
