This all looks fine (except the error :-). It implies the data was trying to flow back to the client but that connection timed out. What was going on on the client during this? Did anything make it back? Is there a firewall or that type of ilk between client and tape machine? Any chance it shut down the connection for some reason? What's in amrecover*debug on the client?
