Hi Neil - If you installed the amanda24-server port, there will be documentation in the /usr/local/share/amanda folder. Take a look there at the INSTALL file. As for tape device, you'll probably use "/dev/nrsa0", but first you need to go through the procedure of setting up the server and then the client(s).
