Can someone tell me how AMANDA determines when it has reach the end of a tape or how it determines the total tape length? I'm worried that stuff written to the end of tape might be lost because AMANDA is running out of tape unknowingly. In general: How does amanda break up the backups so that they are written to span consecutive volumes assuring that no data is lost?
