Amanda estimates how much it can fit on tape using the 'tapelength' from amanda.conf and the estimates it gets back from sendsize. Amanda will then try to write everything it estimated will fit onto the tape. If it hits EOT, it will either start that entire image over on the next tape (if runtapes > 1), or it will tell you in the report email what failed and whether or not it is still on the holding disk (requiring an amflush). -- Joshua Baker-LePain Department of Biomedical Engineering Duke University
