I use amanda-2.4.2p2 to backup my cluster; the server with lots of disk
space, and the slave nodes (just /etc, /var/log, /root, on these). I use

 dumpcycle 2 weeks
 runspercycle 10
 tapecycle 22 tapes
 runtapes 1

with a tapetype that has "length 78000 mbytes" even though it's a DLT8000,
40 Gb native -- following the advice I got on this list, I lie to amanda and
say I my tape drive has twice the capacity that it does. Thus every day, I
run an amflush by hand, and avoid the manual tape changer. I'm hoping this
will let me back up my data:

 [root]% du -csh /home /data
 131G /home
 44G /data
 175G total

Now for the real problem: one of the entries in my disklist, a sub-dir of
/home that is about 17Gb, keeps getting dumped every day. In the
STATISTICS: section of the daily email report, I see (for the last few days,
though this has been going on longer)

                           Total Full Daily
 Output Size (meg) 78023.6 16503.1 61520.5 (fri)
 Output Size (meg) 63339.2 15670.2 47668.9 (mon)
 Output Size (meg) 77970.5 6810.9 71159.6 (tue)
 Output Size (meg) 63420.5 17635.8 45784.7 (wed)

The DUMP SUMMARY shows that most disklist entries FAILED, but I noticed that
one entry appears every day:

 HOSTNAME DISK L ORIG-KB OUT-KB COMP% MMM:SS KB/s MMM:SS KB/s

I certainly looks to me like that disklist entry is getting a full dump
every day.

Just for kicks, I did an "amadmin Daily unforce server /home/proj/bia-9584",
but it said there was no force command outstanding.

Anyone who has any ideas, or can tell me some commands to find out why this
is getting a full dump every day, please tell me!
