Hi Amanda-mailinglist,

I've tried everything I can think of, and I've also posted to this mailinglist
with my problem several times in the last few weeks, but I've been ignored.

I really hope you will help me, otherwise I'm forced to give up, as I have tried
everything I can think off.

I'm trying to backup a remote RedHat 7.2. I've installed the amanda-client under
xinetd, and it is allowed to connect - and I see no error messages on
the client.

I've tried to recompile amanda on the client - but there is no changes,
and I don't know what else to try. I don't have a tapestreamer (only an
80gb disk) so I really need to use the file: feature from the amanda
2.4.3 series - so I really can't change the server. I've tried amanda-2.4.2p4 on
the client, but I get the exact same error message.

Please, Please, Please help me.. I've tried to find the error for
several weeks now, but have had to give up :-(

It backs the localhost server up fine.

On the server I get this:

too..

my disklist looks like this:

I also tried just / - same results.

It is a myth that people resist change. People resist what other
people make them do, not what they themselves choose to do...
That's why companies that innovate successfully year after year
seek their peopl's ideas, let them initiate new projects and
encourage more experiments. -- Rosabeth Moss Kanter
