I assume that the config passes amcheck?  What are the errors as listed in 
the email report?  Also, what is reported in amanda*debug and 
sendbackup*debug on the client?

>From the above output, it almost looks like a localization issue (i.e. 
broken multilingual support somewhere), but in the bits I snipped there 
was also something about not being able to connect to a data port, which 
hints at ipchains issues...
