I have amanda running fine on a machine (call it server 1) which backs up to a local tape device. I have a client machine (client 1) that I would like to dump to tape as well. I have tried adding the necessary details of "client 1" to the disklist on "server 1", but there is a problem somewhere. I have also created the xinetd entry, a new user "amanda" on "client 1" and allowed "server 1" to connect in ~amanda/.amandahosts. I have updated tar to the latest alpha on both machines.
My report shows that the operation "FAILED": /big/www/docs lev 0 FAILED [missing result for /big/www/docs in nova response] I'm wondering if ipchains is maybe blocking the connection? I created a default file using "lokkit". Do I need to open a port? Any ideas on where to look? Some suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
