Henri; 99.44% of the problem is probably the DI-30. I've recently stumbled across (late kernel code maybe, but can't recall for sure) some DI-30 specific optional stuff added because this drive seems to be responsible for at least 1% of the traffic on this list. I've not dealt with it myself, but many of the messages seem to have been very similar in that once it refuses a tape, it will never again accept that tape. That obviously gets expensive and eventually it seems cheaper to run up the white flag and get something else. But, just on the odd chance that I saw that reference in amanda, give 2.4.3 a try. If configured exactly like your present 2.4.2 install, it should be a transparent changeover. If it does fix it, then be sure to tell us here on the list. -- Cheers, Gene AMD K6-III@500mhz 320M Athlon1600XP@1400mhz 512M 99.17% setiathome rank, not too shabby for a WV hillbilly
