The only time I see "cruft" stuff is in the holding disk.  Sometimes they
have been there because I stupidly<-<-<-<-<-<-<-<-mistakenly worked from
the shell in those directories and left behind some files and dirs.  Other
times it seemed that amanda left behind tmp files or empty, properly named
directories that should have been removed but weren't.
