: does not support optional exclude (2.4.3 server & 2.4.2p2 client)

I've just updated my amanda server to version 2.4.3, and adjusted the config for new options etc. Notably, I've inserted the new "optional" keyword into my exclude list spec as exclude lists won't always exist. After this, I get a lot of:

WARNING: <host>:<directory> does not support optional exclude

Not very surprising, as some of the clients are still on version 2.4.2p2 (and will be for another while, I think), but do I need to worry about this? What will amanda do with the exclude list for these clients?

Also, are there any other pitfalls associated with combining a version 2.4.3 server and 2.4.2p2 clients
