Update, the party was canceled due to the weather, so I never put the key in 
the switch.

And the backup session I started a bit after 1Pm is still going at 00:25, 
with about 40 amanda owned processes showing in htop, with 30 of them being 
amandad's and labeled Z for zombie.  So I disabled the crontab entry & we'll 
check things in the morning.
