I frequently use "amdump xy -otapedev= -otpchanger= " to trigger manual amdumps and collect dumps in the holdingdisk before flushing.
(One advantage is better filling of tapes, another is less load on the machine ... I use it during workdays when I need that server for other stuff as well.) This worked fine with 2.6.1p2 .. with the new beta it fails to dump anything. amstatus tells me "failed: process terminated while waiting for dumping" for the DLEs and shows: taper status: You must specify one of 'tapedev' or 'tpchanger' As far as I see there are no dumps done to the holdingdisk, amdump just sits there and waits until some timeout occurs or so ... Which of all the logs should I provide to the hackers? Thanks, Stefan
