When using gtar to do a backup to virtual tapes where the session spans
across two tapes, the failed tar file on the first tape is kept on the
virtual tape. Is there a way to tell amanda to erase the failed backup
to save the disk space?

I realize that this makes no sense when dealing with real tapes because
erasing the tape is a waste of time. However this is not the case when
using virtual tapes.

The configuration:
  Backup 26 partitions a-z each as a separate disklist entry for 26
items.
  Gtar and software compression to capture the data and place it on
virtual tape.
  Dumporder is largest to smallest.

Thanks.
