Greets, amanda-users, I use amanda-3.1.2 for a few days now, on my servers and at a customer. Now I see problems there. Or at least questions ...
The cron-job started there results in a failed amdump-run, all DLEs show "FAILED [data write: Broken pipe]" in the report email. I then logged into the server and started amdump again from the shell, as the amanda-user. Then amdump runs through OK ... without ANY warning/error ... Hmm? I digged through the debug-files ... and found this: # cat sendbackup.20100818210900.debug Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: pid 13406 ruid 1001 euid 1001 version 3.1.2: start at Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010 Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: Version 3.1.2 Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: pid 13406 ruid 1001 euid 1001 version 3.1.2: rename at Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010 Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: Parsed request as: program `GNUTAR' Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: disk `homes_enc' Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: device `/mnt/homes' Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: level 1 Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: since NODATE Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: options `' Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: datapath `AMANDA' Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: start: juno:homes_enc lev 1 Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: Spawning "/usr/bin/gzip /usr/bin/gzip --fast" in pipeline Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: gnutar: pid 13408: /usr/bin/gzipWed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: pid 13408: /usr/bin/gzip --fast Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: doing level 1 dump as listed-incremental from '/usr/local/var/amanda/gnutar-lists/junohomes_enc_0' to '/usr/local/var/amanda/gnutar-lists/junohomes_enc_1.new' Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: Started index creator: "/usr/local/bin/amgtar -tf - 2>/dev/null | sed -e 's/^\.//'" Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: Spawning "/usr/local/libexec/amanda/runtar runtar eag /usr/local/bin/amgtar --create --file - --directory /mnt/homes --one-file-system --listed-incremental /usr/local/var/amanda/gnutar-lists/junohomes_enc_1.new --sparse --ignore-failed-read --totals ." in pipeline Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: gnutar: /usr/local/libexec/amanda/runtar: pid 13411 Wed Aug 18 21:09:00 2010: sendbackup: Started backup Wed Aug 18 21:09:01 2010: sendbackup: critical (fatal): index tee cannot write [Broken pipe] /usr/local/lib/amanda/libamanda-3.1.2.so[0x2ab8c91fa5d6] /opt/gnome/lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_logv+0x250)[0x2ab8c9a68ef0] /opt/gnome/lib64/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_log+0x83)[0x2ab8c9a690c3] /usr/local/libexec/amanda/sendbackup(start_index+0x289)[0x403c69] /usr/local/libexec/amanda/sendbackup[0x407be0] /usr/local/libexec/amanda/sendbackup(main+0x10eb)[0x405ccb] /lib64/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xf4)[0x2ab8c9e10304] /usr/local/libexec/amanda/sendbackup[0x4035d9] Do I hit a bug maybe? This is a SLES 10 SP3, btw. I compiled amanda myself and did not use the rpms. We use a wrapper there for gnu-tar .. Let me know if I should provide more logs or something. Stefan
