This is something that should be fixed in the long term, but let's get
a version that works committed to Amanda, and then work on expanding
compatibility. It's easier to parallelize work when there's something
in version control to base it on.

So, Tim or Stefan or Paul: can you start working on cleaning this up
for inclusion? That would mean a patch that properly installs the
script into application-src and modifies the Makefile.am
appropriately, adds a manpage, and (if you're feeling brave) adds
tests for the script (that do not require lvm - mocks are useful
here!).

The 3.2 merge window is closing in ~3-4 weeks, and it would be great
to have this script included in 3.2, even if it has known limitations
at the time.
