This is something that should be fixed in the long term, but let's get a version that works committed to Amanda, and then work on expanding compatibility. It's easier to parallelize work when there's something in version control to base it on. So, Tim or Stefan or Paul: can you start working on cleaning this up for inclusion? That would mean a patch that properly installs the script into application-src and modifies the Makefile.am appropriately, adds a manpage, and (if you're feeling brave) adds tests for the script (that do not require lvm - mocks are useful here!). The 3.2 merge window is closing in ~3-4 weeks, and it would be great to have this script included in 3.2, even if it has known limitations at the time.
