Has anyone experimented with using ionice to bump up the priority of the taper processes? I have a pretty solid amanda server, but the LTO4 drive I've recently started using is so fast that I don't think I'm keeping it saturated. I'd happily trade off dumper performance to keep the tape drive going full blast.
Currently running amanda 2.6.1p2 on Fedora 13 but I'll probably upgrade over the holidays. - J<
