Hi Dustin! > > chg-aggregate (man amanda-changers) > Support for removable hard drive in chg-disk (man amanda-changers, > http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/How_To:Using_removable_hard_disk_change > rs_as_Virtual_tapes) Both features allow to have more than one mount > point for the removable drive. Unforch, the link got trimmed or? Empty page. Ahh, found it, remove the final ). It is an e-mail convention to surround the link with <>, so email agents can separate and pass clean link phrases to the browsers. So this link becomes: <http://wiki.zmanda.com/index.php/How_To:Using_removable_hard_disk_changers_as_Virtual_tapes> I must say I like this whole idea too. It isn't a huge advantage to me with my relatively small home network other than being able to plug in my lappy and initiate a backup session for it. But this brings up another subject: I use that laptop sparingly, usually syncing the email corpus when I am on the road with an extended rsync session, which is very seldom now as those trips are a 3 day drive each way. It would be very convenient for me if I could, from that laptop, initiate a recovery session of that email corpus as it existed as of the last run of amanda on this machine at 1ish am this morning. Could this new amanda's security be bent far enough to allow that? Or is rsync still the best method?
