just to extract the first page to see if it contains recovery
instructions, ... I only got binary garbage - so I think that
amfetchdump will automatically remove the first page from any part
of the backup (I defined part-size of 1500 mbyte in order to have
10% of the virtual tape size)
You might try the file command to see what the contents are.
$ file recovery.txt
