Assuming you are specifically talking about the "directory is on a different filesystem; not dumped" messages generated by tar 1.27: this was discussed here on the amanda-users list back in June, in the thread with a Subject of sendbackup: 118: strange(?): /bin/tar: ./dev: directory is on a different filesystem; not dumped" (Here's a link to discussion in the MARC archive of the list: http://marc.info/?l=amanda-users&m=140173566600897&w=2 ) Note that as of Amanda 3.3.6 this message is included in the default NORMAL list for the amgtar application. Presumably, if you want to completely suppress these messages from your reports, you could manually configure an IGNORE line instead. (See "man amgtar" for more info.)
