Thats odd Paul.  I was sitting in /home/gene/linucxcnc, and it created a 
gene/linuxcnc directory for the recovery. when i asked it to recover the 
linuxcnc subdir of /home/gene.

Anyway, I got it, but now an "ssh -Y lathe" is refusing to "forwardX11 
yes"  Key files and more are still fubar.  Thats a relativly high number 
in the excedrin headache series. :(
