Which dle are you restoring, what is the path inside the dle?
Are you restoring home/gene/linucxcnc from the / dle?
Are you restoring gene/linucxcnc from the /home dle?
Are you restoring linucxcnc from the /home/gene dle?
Are you restoring . from the /home/genelinucxcnc dle?
They behave differently, the path of the dle is not restore, but the
path inside the dle is restored.
