Could be 'rawdisk'. :)

But better plan for some redundancy to compensate for silent corruption.

And consider that SATA connectors have a limited life (about 500 mating
cycles, IIRC): for frequently-removed disks it's better to use a
dedicated caddy, maybe an eSata one.
