LTO-5, amcheckdump, GNUtar In my amanda script, I have it verify after backing up. It seems to me that the verify is reading the entire tape, not just the backed up data--the verify takes longer than the backup.
Am I wrong? Is this a 'feature' of a recent update? Is there any way to fix this? -- Glenn English
