Amanda might not have changed as much as you think, depending on
the version you used to run. The 3.5.4 release (tag-community-3.5.4 up
on github) hasn't had any commits since July 2023.

Now, amanda has been changed considerably since I ran it from 1999 till
2 new 2T seagates about 2 weeks old signed off in the middle of the
night 3 years ago. That prompted a wholesale upgrading of my whole
wintel computer cnc farm to SSD's in nearly everything. Where do I find
a "first light" tutorial to get amanda started on good terms with the
world? I have done nothing but install the 3.5.4 debs for all 3 pkgs.
So start me from there...
