Hi Mark Thank you for the prompt reply. I am pushed for time a bit here as I need to isntall this server in a couple of hours...
I get the errors with every message. Also, I'm not running in chroot. This is what I get when I run the command as per your suggestion :- [EMAIL PROTECTED] f-prot]# su vscan -c 'f-prot -dumb -archive -packed /var/amavis/tmp/amavis-20050731T034318-00618 </dev/null' Segmentation fault [EMAIL PROTECTED] f-prot]# f-prot -dumb -archive -packed /var/amavis/tmp/amavis-20050731T034318-00618 </dev/null Virus scanning report - 31 July 2005 @ 3:45 F-PROT ANTIVIRUS Program version: 4.5.4 Engine version: 3.16.6 VIRUS SIGNATURE FILES SIGN.DEF created 28 July 2005 SIGN2.DEF created 29 July 2005 MACRO.DEF created 28 July 2005 Search: /var/amavis/tmp/amavis-20050731T034318-00618 Action: Report only Files: "Dumb" scan of all files Switches: -ARCHIVE -PACKED -SERVER Results of virus scanning: Files: 2 MBRs: 0 Boot sectors: 0 Objects scanned: 2 Time: 0:00 No viruses or suspicious files/boot sectors were found. Does it work if you use the same command interactively as user vscan? ( su vscan -c 'f-prot -dumb -archive -packed some.directory </dev/null' ) Are you running amavisd in chroot?
