Did you follow the whole chain of events of a looping message
through both the MTA and the amavisd-new log? (sendmail reported
27 iterations). You are showing small pieces of sendmail log (and
no amavisd log entries) and expecting people to guess the rest.
The evidence is there on your machine.

This is not a bounce message as would be generated by amavisd-new 2.3.3.
The Message-ID is not like amavisd-new would generate it, the Message-ID
of a sender notification (bounce) would be like: Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
where VS would stand literally for these two characters, the %i would be
replaced by exactly 12 characters, then the @ followed by the hostname.
I don't see any of these in <N1msdrbJXNPfV4wg9>.

The amavisd log at log level 5 will tell you exactly how matching occurs.
Why are you trying to guess what is going on in amavisd by looking
at the sendmail log entries?

Perhaps. Look in the amavisd log.
