I think the pseudo-DSPAM support is just confusing to amavisd-new 
people, and it no longer serves any useful purpose now that 
there is a DSPAM daemon mode.  There's no advantage to pre-loading
dspam like there is with SA, so why bother?  DSPAM has an 
excellent LMTP daemon mode, which is easily tied into Postfix,
which can support all of the DSPAM configuration possibilities.  
amavisd-new DSPAM support is a waste of your time IMO.

The amavisd-new documentation should just recommend running amavisd-new
first, then setting the Postfix re-injection port to have DSPAM as its
content-filter.  Then the user creates another re-injection port for
DSPAM.  Refer to DSPAM documentation for any further details.

It's a very minor thing to be concerned about.  Having an extra postfix
listener is no problem at all.
