I'm certainly not ungrateful for all the work that has obviously been put into the daemon, but it really looks like overkill for me at this point. I just need something that throws a wad of text at my antivirus progam. I don't need MySQL databases or SpamAssassin or any number of other things which are obviously extremely useful, but also completely overwhelming at a time when I'm just trying to get the new system to do most of what the old system did in the most conservative and stable way possible. If it were anything other than mail, I'd probably be more curious, but users do not respond well to excessive mail "experimentation". Are there any other stripped-down very simple text-slinging scripts out there that behave in the spirit of amavis-perl? Hmmm. When I ask the question that way, I wonder if upgrading even makes sense. Still, I'm trying to stay open-minded. Perhaps I'll be convinced.
